Steve Loo, Pastor
"Every day, God is faithful."
Who is Steve? Steve committed his life to full-time ministry at 22 years old. After graduating from CSUF, Steve went to Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary for one year. Then he transferred to Talbot School of Theology and graduated with not only a degree but a heart to be the pastor God has called him to be. In 2008, he married Christine, the girl of his dreams. He devotes his life to learning how to love her and to love the things she loves.
What is his experience in ministry? Steve has served as youth minister for three years, college and young adult minister one year, prior to becoming the lead pastor for SGC.
What is on his heart for SGC? For me to live is Christ, but to die is gain (Phi. 1:21). Steve's hope is that SGC will raise up families who love Christ passionately and love others graciously. His prayer is for us to know God's grace and live it out loud and clear to an alarmingly ungracious world.
Alice Chin, Children's Ministry
"Live for Jesus!"
Who is Alice? Alice Chin is proud to be a part of God's family. She loves God because God first loved her. Alice has a great passion for teaching children about God and His saving plan for this world through Jesus. Alice is married to Ray, a wonderful husband and a faithful brother in Christ. Together God has blessed them with two lovely boys, Joshua Michael, who is almost 8, and Josiah Paul, who is 6 years old.
What is her experience in children's ministry? Alice has been involved with Children's ministry since 1998. God has equipped Alice in knowledge and understanding of children and education through the completion of her teaching credential and a Master's degree in Education from Biola University. He has also grown Alice's faith and obedience as the children's director at First Chinese Baptist Church, Walnut for 3 and half years. Through God's calling and equipping in the past, Alice clearly realizes God's purpose for her to serve in SGC as children's staff.
What is on her heart for SGC? In the Bible, God clearly commands parents to teach their children about God and model for their children a godly living. Therefore, Alice strongly encourages parents to courageously take on this God-given authority as their children's primary spiritual teachers, and responsibility of raising children to be men and women of God.
